Sock manufacturer celebrates road to Damascus

US-based technical sock manufacturer Farm to Feet has launched the Damascus Elite hiking sock. The Damascus is named for the Virginia town that hosts a weekend-long celebration of the Appalachian Trail every year.

This year marks the thirtieth anniversary of Trail Days, scheduled for May 12-15. Over 20,000 hikers and outdoors enthusiasts will descend on the town to camp, mend gear and celebrate the trail.

“Trail Days is an amazing gathering of the hiking community and showcases the spirit of the trail,” said David Petri, Farm to Feet’s vice-president of marketing. “We knit our socks less than 100 miles away from Damascus, and Trail Days is a great opportunity for us to share our story and hear the amazing stories of the hikers.”

Each participant this year will receive a pair of the Damascus Elite socks, which feature seamless toe closure, 100% US materials (inlcuding merino wool from US sheep), micro-channel circumferential ventilation and a special “comfort compression fit” that features Lycra fibre.
