Under Armour co-founder to take a break

The co-founder of sports brand Under Armour, Kip Fulks, is to take a sabbatical from his position at the company, Reuters has reported.

He has held a number of positions at the company including chief operating officer, president of footwear & innovation and chief product officer. He had been acting as a strategic advisor since May 2017.

The news was first reported by the Wall Street Journal, who cited people familiar with the matter.

The Wall Street Journal has also reported that Under Armour is considering exiting its smaller sports categories like tennis, outdoor gear and fishing. The brand sponsors a number of leading tennis stars, including Andy Murray, but these endorsement deals will reportedly be unaffected should it take this decision.
