HeiQ’s new Australian base powers partnership with Skins

Swiss textile technology provider HeiQ has established an Australian subsidiary in partnership with Deakin University and has pledged to spend $4 million over the next few years in research and scale-up.

When Australian compression wear brand Skins re-launched its A400 range with HeiQ’s cooling technology Adaptive, it said the proximity to the facility helped cement the relationship.

Nic Tierney, director of design and development for Skins, said: “When we embarked on updating our A400 premium compression range, one of the key areas we focused on was finding ways to make our fabrics even smarter than they already were.

“We approached HeiQ and worked closely with them on integrating their technology into our core fabrics. At every stage of the process, we were able to draw upon HeiQ’s network both here in Australia and also in Asia and Europe to thoroughly test the treatment to our high quality standards.”

At ISPO Munich (February 5 to 8), HeiQ will showcase the Skins range.
