Puma says industry will raise prices next year

The chief financial officer of Puma has told Reuters the effects of currency issues are weighing heavily on the company’s revenues, and will likely have an effect on prices.

"I expect that the industry  will raise prices in 2016," said Michael Laemmermann.

The rising US dollar, falling euro and rouble and the effects of other currencies have had a major impact on companies over the past year, as we looked at in the latest issue of WSA.

Puma, Nike and adidas have spoken of troubles in Russia, where adidas is closing stores. "The profitability of the industry in Russia has been put into question,” added Mr Laemmermann.
