ICAC names Researcher of the Year

25/04/2017
The International Cotton Advisory Committee (ICAC) has named Dr. David Matthias Stelly as its Cotton Researcher of the Year for 2017.

The committee selects a leading cotton researcher each year and awards them a certificate of recognition, a shield and an honorarium of $1,000.

Dr. Stelly is a professor in the Department of Soil & Crop Sciences at Texas A&M University. The committee said he has “revolutionised global cotton research capabilities” by enabling global use of single-nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) for large-scale and targeted small-scale applications.
