Hyosung TNC launches G3H10 clothing collection
South Korea-based fibre producer Hyosung TNC has launched G3H10, a branded, “eco-friendly” clothing collection of its own, following a successful crowdfunding campaign via the Wadiz platform.
The intention behind the move is to showcase garments made using a combination of Hyosung’s Regen yarn and organic cotton, local media said.
Charcoal-, ivory- and olive-coloured hoodies and sweatshirts are G3H10’s initial products, with the first 500 participants in the Wadiz campaign also receiving a Hyosung-made mask, created with proprietary antibacterial fibres.
“As a [traditionally] business-to-business company, this is the first time Hyosung TNC has manufactured clothes directly and advertised them to customers. The G3H10 hoodies will be available through Wadiz until February 22,” a company spokesperson told reporters.
Another official commented: “We have launched a brand to develop textiles that reflect the voices of end-users, the customers of apparel brands, beyond simply supplying enterprises with textiles.”
G3 stands for green, good and globe, while H10 represents Hyosung, hope, happiness, health, humanity, how-to, harmony, home, healing and help, according to media reports. The story behind the name is also linked to the location of Hyosung TNC’s Seoul-based design team: 10th floor, Hyosung Building (Gongdeok Station exit 3).
The company intends to continuously release product drops going forward.
