Functional fabric buzz ahead of Intertextile Apparel
Graphene-enhanced nylon and polyester from Changzhou Henglibao Nano New Material Technology (Highbery) are among the many functional fabric innovations set to make a splash at next month’s Intertextile Shanghai Apparel Fabrics (Intertextile Apparel) trade show, according to local media reports.
Fair organisers Messe Frankfurt (HK), China’s Sub-Council of Textile Industry and state-owned research institution China Textile Information Center will host the upcoming spring edition slightly later than planned, from March 28 to 30.
The event will once again run concurrently alongside Yarn Expo and Intertextile Shanghai Home Textiles at the National Exhibition and Convention Center in Shanghai.
Hall 5.1 will house the show’s Functional Lab for sports and athletic leisurewear exhibitors, in addition to international participants’ displays. US-based polyamide 66 manufacturer Ascend Performance Materials will notably showcase its zinc-embedded, antimicrobial Acteev polyamide fabrics, which organisers described as a “standout” exhibit. Domestic suppliers like Highbery and Shanghai Tiqiao Textile Yarn Dyeing, meanwhile, will be allocated booths across six halls, including hall 5.1, according to product end use.
Several zones will focus exclusively on sustainability, such as the All About Sustainability area, with other sections dedicated to denim, digital printing, accessories, trends and more.
