Hyosung's creora bio-based gets renewable content boost

Seoul-based fibre producer Hyosung is to show an expanded range of creora bio-based elastane and regen ocean nylons as part of its Performance Days (October 4-5) line-up, the company has announced.

Its creora bio-based selection will include various degrees of renewable content, Hyosung said, more so than ever before.

These encompass USDA and SGS-certified creora bio-based 3D Max, Recycled Claim Standard-approved 100% recycled creora regen 3D Max elastane from pre-consumer waste and its recyclable creora Easy 3D Max, all well-suited to denim applications.

“We are very excited to follow the success of our creora bio-based elastane with a second phase of third party-certified fibres,” said global marketing director for textiles, Simon Whitmarsh-Knight. He added that materials produced with a higher percentage of renewable resources had been developed in line with “consumer demand for traceable, bio-based products”.

Other additions include “new innovations” in its 100% post-consumer recycled regen ocean nylon, manufactured from waste fishing nets. Technical textile developer and sailcloth maker Dimension-Polyant has used the nylon in its four-layer X-Pac VX21 black laminate.

Hyosung will next exhibit at denim trade show Kingpins Amsterdam (October 18-19), followed by Functional Fabric Fair in Portland between November 1 and 2.
