First fruits of Loomshake-made Unpeeled drop this month
A collaborative project from Ani Wells of sustainable fashion consultancy Simply Suzette and Pakistan-based vertical denim manufacturer Interloop, Unpeeled, deliberately spotlights the industry’s “silent contributors” to present “a fresh narrative on farm to fashion”.
The capsule centres on banana-fibre-blended Loomshake yarn, woven at denim mill Neela by Sapphire Fibres in Lahore.
Loomshake yarns typically contain 8-20% fibre upcycled from banana waste collected on Interloop-owned farmland in Sindh, with the rest being cotton. Their end-to-end traceability is facilitated by its proprietary Looptrace platform.
Unpeeled has likewise been shaped by CLO 3D design simulation software and “novel spinning methods” for a trend-forward take on eco-responsible production methods, the partners shared.
The idea is to deliver something of a “love letter” to the land and those that steward it.
Experience the collection first-hand at a pop-up in Amsterdam on October 17.
