Performance Days to expand following exceptional demand

Munich-based textiles fair Performance Days will expand into three halls in October (13 and 14) - the largest event in its history.

The growth is a result of exceptional demand from the international textile industry, said organisers, with 590 exhibitors filling 27,500 square-metres of space.

Exhibition space is already nearly sold out, with numerous companies exhibiting for the first time, including as W. L. Gore & Associates, Niber Technologies and Linz Textil, as well as a growing number of innovative material developers, technology providers and start-ups.

Marco Weichert, CEO of Performance Days, said: “Performance Days is experiencing the strongest demand in its history. Expanding into three halls reflects the importance the platform has gained within the international industry.”

The additional exhibition space will also accommodate new special areas, expanded “theme worlds”, and forums focusing on material innovations, garment technologies and technical developments. The focus topic of the event is ‘Biobased Materials – From Fibre to Fabric’.

In addition to the Munich events, the portfolio includes Functional Fabric Fair in New York, Portland and Orlando, Functional Textiles Shanghai, and, in the future, Texfuture Tokyo.

“The global demand for specialised sourcing and innovation platforms continues to grow,” Weichert added.
