Toms president to lead Lululemon

10/12/2013
Yogawear company Lululemon has appointed former Toms president Laurent Potdevin as the company's chief executive, taking over from Christine Day, who announced her intention to resign in June.

Prior to working at the footwear company, Mr Potdevin held numerous positions at Burton Snowboards, including CEO from 2005 to 2010.

"After a thorough search, Laurent emerged as the natural choice to lead our continued growth and global expansion," said Michael Casey, lead director of the board. “His deep understanding of the importance of top-quality technical design, retail marketing strategies, and the power of building a strong brand provides him with the tools we believe are necessary to lead our next exciting phase of growth.”

Chip Wilson, lululemon's founder and the chairman the board, announced his resignation from the position of non-executive Chairman but will remain on the board. MrCasey has been chosen as the next chairman.

Ms Day has been in court this week in a bid to resolve a court case brought about by shareholders concerning a sheer fabric that caused apparel to be recalled in March.
