New sweat-masking Coolmax launches
With the launch of Coolmax CloakFX, The Lycra Company is introducing a new technology that is engineered to minimise signs of sweat on garments. This new feature is the result of the company’s market research that has identified this as a ‘pain point’ for contemporary consumers, especially those that update their followers on social media throughout their day, including their gym sessions.

The new fibre is embedded with a light-diffusing additive that is said to “reduce the visual appearance of moisture, helping to make sweat marks less noticeable”. It will not wash out during wearing or laundering.

As part of the Coolmax platform, CloakFX has cooling and moisture-wicking properties, and can also provide higher UPF protection than conventional polyester fibres due to its specific structure and composition, the company says. Finally, to align with yet another contemporary consumer concern, it is made from 93% recycled polyester.

Coolmax CloakFX, along with The Lycra Company’s biobased elastane, Lycra EcoMade, will be showcased at Performance Days next week (March 18 &19), in Munich.
