Greeper laces make GDS debut
UK-based brand Greepers appeared at GDS, which ran March 13-15 in Dusseldorf, for the very first time this year. The company, which was launched in July 2008, is looking to raise its profile in Europe.
According to the company’s founder, Peter Greedy, Greepers laces are the world’s first ever shoelaces that can never come undone. He says that the lace system can be used by anyone, but could particularly appeal to young children and older people, as well as those with certain disabilities.
The laces can be applied to almost any type of lace-up footwear, including hiking boots and trainers. They are also available in a range of colours.
“The initial response to Greeper shoelaces has exceeded all expectations from just about all markets,” says Mr Greedy. “The obvious health and safety benefits, where people cannot ever trip on their undone laces, has been praised by the aged and disability markets.”
He adds: “Occupational therapists are recommending Greeper laces in various cases of special needs/disabilities affecting dexterity, fine motor skills and finding the promote independence.”
