Santini bikewear features Eschler’s e1 carbon
Switzerland-based knitwear manufacturer Eschler has introduced a new fabric development for bikewear, a technical stretch material called e1 carbon.
Italian bikewear brand Santini has decided to use the functional material in its high-end bike bib SP1071 Car5. The lightweight stretch material is made from 76% polyamide, 21% elastane and 3% carbon. The combination of high elasticity, comfort and temperature management means it works well for Santini’s customers, many of whom are part of professional teams.
The key benefits of the integrated carbon fibres are the prevention of odour, its antistatic properties and, according to a study conducted at the independent research institute EMPA in St Gallen, Switzerland, the improvement of thermal regulation.
