New swimwear fabric looks at Creora
Korea-based Hyosung Corporation’s elastane brand, creora, has been improving the functionality of its swimwear fabrics as well as making changes to their appearance.
According to the brand, function, including quick dry, is key to providing added performance to competitive and fitness swimwear. It also uses technical constructions that allow the water to glide over the swimmer’s body with reduced drag.
The brand uses thermo bonding seams for smooth results. It also uses contrasting coloured flat-lock stitching incorporating iridescent and fluorescent threads for contrast against predominantly black and dark bases.
Transfer prints feature in subtle symbol and logo form for regular swimmers who are looking for functionality but are also seeking style. Metallic pewter and colour-changing accents feature for inserts using high gloss and cationic cross-dyed effects for a permanent finish. High-tech knits are lighter without losing their opacity or stretch content, which can be worked through panels in different degrees of power offering core support where it is needed.
Products used in creora’s swimwear range include: creora performance H-350 for chlorine resistance and built-in power; creora black H-100D for intense, long lasting blacks; Mipan regen recycled nylon; askin quick-drying polyester and UV protection; Mipan aerocool-n nylon for quick drying performance in matte or bright lustre; polypropylene blended with creora eco for light swimwear with an ecological aspect; Mipan colormax for colour richness and colour fastness; and Mipan duo-a for modern iridescent effects and shimmer.
The fabrics are said to be quick drying and chlorine resistant so they are able to withstand regular use. Four-way stretch fabric constructions are used to reduce water drag and sew-free technology offers cleaner finishes and reduces drag.
