03/04/2009

Reports indicate that two Chinese textile manufacturers have expressed interest in establishing an industrial textile park in Botswana.

If plans go ahead, the park is expected to become a base for almost 70 textile and garment firms, with potential employment levels of 8,000.

The textile cluster, which will be named Phakalane Industrial Park, is expected to require an investment of around $52 million. Once opened, it is likely to generate revenues of around $280 million.
