Advanced Textiles 09 attracts 100 delegates

The second edition of European-US event Advanced Textiles took place on April 2 and 3 in Brussels with 100 attendees present.
Presentations covered new technologies “from an interdisciplinary angle”, with speakers and delegates representing various application areas of technical textiles, from protective clothing to textile applications for the medical, transportation and architectural sectors.
The event was jointly organised by the Industrial Fabrics Association International (IFAI) and IHofmann, a Germany-based agency specialising in the technical textiles industry. Dr Isa Hofmann, CEO IHofmann commented after the conference: “We wanted to create a unique event concept, a well balanced blend of exciting lectures from various application areas combined with immediate face-to-face talks and networking opportunities in a pleasant ambiance.”
On behalf of the IFAI, president, Stephen M. Warner, said: “We are very pleased that our concept finds approval and that Advanced Textiles is on its way to becoming a brand. Our goal is to back up our industry by offering this innovative meeting platform to foster bilateral business cooperation and a valuable knowledge exchange. We are committed to continuing and are currently evaluating a date and location for the upcoming next year.”
