Chemservice, an independent, Luxembourg based regulatory affairs service, has evaluated Optimer’s Dri-release with FreshGuard moisture-transport and odour-elimination technology and has certified that it is in full compliance with REACH.
Introduced in June 2007, REACH (Registration, Evaluation, Authorization and Restriction of Chemicals) seeks to control the production and use in the European Union of chemicals that may be harmful to human health and the environment.
“We knew Dri-release and FreshGuard were safe, but wanted to go the extra mile and have them checked so our customers that market in the EU could be assured of REACH compliance,” said Karen Deniz, Dri-release director of marketing, on announcing the result of the Chemservice assessment.
In its summary, Chemservice states that companies using Dri-release as a performance fibre in sports and outdoor garments require no registration or notification to comply with REACH legislation.
