New collection offers Insect Shield

Insect Shield, a provider of insect-repellent technology, has recently entered into partnership with a number of outdoor apparel brands to bring a collection of protective clothing and accessories to market.
The collection will include Insect Shield apparel for hunting, fishing, camping, adventure travel, and other outdoor activities from L.L.Bean, Orvis, REI, ExOfficio, Zorrel and RailRiders. L.L.Bean is also launching a new collection of outdoor apparel products for children, including graphic tees, zip-off pants and accessories. There will also be new Insect Shield hats and accessories from Buff, Tilley, Outdoor Research, and Carolina Manufacturing.
The technology provider (fromerly known as Buzz Off Insect Shield) claims that Insect Shield provides invisible, odourless protection from mosquitoes and other pests, including those with the potential to carry malaria, West Nile virus, Dengue fever and Lyme disease. The technology is registerred with the US Environmental Protection Agency and is safe enough to use in clothing worn by infants, children of all ages and women who are pregnant or nursing.
In apparel applications, the technology will typically remain effective for up to 70 washes.
