OutDoor Awards 2009: registration open

Registration has opened for the OutDoor Industry Awards 2009, part of the OutDoor exhibition that will take place in Friedrichshafen from July 16-19.
The deadline for entries is June 15.
Manufacturers and designers are invited to enter their products focusing for awards in the following established categories: Apparel/Helmets/Shoes, Backpacks/Travel luggage, Mountain-climbing equipment, Camping equipment, Sleeping bags and Accessories.
The following two categories are new: products with high ecological and sustainable value, and material innovations. There is also a “concepts” category, which is restricted to students who would like to submit experimental drafts of yet to be realised products. Participation for students is free of charge.
This year, the jury of experts will include the following members: Frank Wacker (Motor Presse Stuttgart), Mark Held (European Outdoor Group, ), Gregor Baer (product designer at Indigo/Bogner in Munich) and Olaf Wittayer (from Sport 2000 in Limburg). Two more jurors have yet to be nominated.
The awards ceremony is scheduled to take place on July 16 at the show in Friedrichshafen. All the winning products will be on display for the duration of the event.
