Recycled fibres penetrate maternity packs

23/04/2009

Kela, the Finnish Social Insurance Institution, has increased the use of environmentally conscious and performance textiles used in a special pack of clothing and other products that it hands out to the parents of all new/born babies in the Nordic country.

For the third year running, the maternity packages include reusable cloth nappies. Now there are also winter baby suits in which the polyester is 63% recycled. The package also includes socks and mittens made from bamboo.
