Switzerland-based functional textiles producer Schoeller has received an iF material design award for its c_change membrane. According to the company, 98 entries were submitted, but just 28 were granted the award.

Entries for the award were on show, and judged, during CeBIT 2009, which took place in March. Entries were divided into three categories: material, product and process.

Schoeller COO, Hans-Ulrich Kohn, received the award, which was given for the innovation of the membrane, for the choice of material and for its environmentally friendly qualities.

The company’s c_change bionic climate membrane is water and windproof, and adapts to altering temperatures and activities.
