JOG Swimwear launches in Asia
French brand JOG Swimwear has decided to launch its debut collection in Asia. The company identified China and Singapore as areas of real potential for the brand. JOG, which sells swimwear for women and girls, also opened its first own-brand shop in Shanghai on April 16.
The company was established in 2008 by young designer Jessica Othnin-Girard, a former synchronised swimming champion. Her aim was to make swimwear that was glamorous, smart and elegant.
The swim apparel is designed to create a "second skin" effect, appear feminine while also allowing swimmers to move in the water with ease.
Having moved to China in 2007, Ms Othnin-Girard decided to launch the collection in Asia, where there are fewer high-quality swimwear manufacturers, rather than in France, where competition is high.
