Huntsman Textile Effects (HTE) will present its latest technologies focused on sustainability in textile processing at the upcoming Sustainable Solutions Summit, which will take place May 19-20 in Hong Kong. 

Products will include the firm’s Gentle Power Bleach, an environmentally friendly peroxide bleaching process, developed in partnership with Genencor. The enzyme-based peroxide bleach allows low temperature bleaching of textiles at a neutral pH range. The process offers considerable savings in energy, water and waste water treatment.

Head of project management pre-treatment, Lode Vermeersch, will offer participants insight into the sustainable advantages of wet processing using the bleach. Global business development director, Martin Szeto, will talk about sustainability and the issues associated with it in the textile industry. He will also cover how using the best available technology can significantly contribute to sustainability.
