Another win for extreme raid team

15/05/2009

The Buff AdvansaThermo Cool extreme raid team has recorded its third consecutive victory at the Spain Adventure Raids. The adventure raid is designed to test the physical and mental endurance, navigation and survival abilities of the participants

The team finished in first place after a 15-hour race in the 11th edition of Raid La Pineda Platja. Fighting against time, bad weather conditions and 19 other strong teams, Fran López Costoya, Arnau Julía and Albert Roca completed a range of tasks including orientation, mountain biking, kayaking, canyoning, walking, biking and running.

Competing in the elite category, the team finished the competition with a significant two-hour lead over the team that finished second.

Advansa and Buff have sponsored the team for several years and the Thermo Cool apparel worn by the team during the competition appears to have given them the edge. When the wearer is hot and perspiring, the fabric provides evaporative cooling, keeping the user cool and comfortable. Then, when the user is cold and shivering, the fabric reduces the exposure impact with external temperatures, keeping the user warm and thermo-regulated.
