Executive appointments at Talon International
Manufacturer of zips, apparel fasteners, trim and interlining products Talon International has made two new senior appointments, effective immediately.
Alexandra Rieger has been appointed vice president operations, Talon fasteners division, and James Reeder has been appointed vice president corporate controller and chief accounting officer.
Earlier this month the company promoted Larry Dyne to president of the company.
"These appointments are important continuing steps to strengthen our management team and to bring to Talon key resources needed to further the company's growth and success," said chief executive officer, Lonnie Schnell.
Ms Rieger’s background covers all areas of supply chain management within the apparel industry, including product development, production control and international sourcing. Most recently she was Hong Kong regional manager at Pacific Brands, and prior to this she was Asia-Pacific regional sourcing manager at Levi Strauss. Based in the Hong Kong office, Ms Rieger replaces Manash Barthakur.
Mr Reeder most recently served as chief financial officer at Sheffield Manufacturing, an aerospace parts manufacturer and at Data Exchange Corporation, an international provider of supply chain solutions. He has an MBA in Finance and Strategic Planning from the University of California at Berkeley.
The company has also posted its financial results for the first quarter of 2009. Sales for the quarter totalled $6.5 million, down 35%, or $3.5 million, compared with the same quarter in 2008.
"The severe global economic decline late in 2008 continued its impact on consumer spending well into the first quarter of 2009 and this translated into much lower demand for our zipper and trim products," said Mr Schnell.
