Hohenstein director takes on new role
Dr.Stefan Mecheels has been elected vice president of the German Institute for Quality Assurance and Certification (RAL Institut für Gütesicherung und Kennzeichnung). Dr Mecheels has been managing director of the Hohenstein Institute in Boennigheim since 1995. He will now join the RAL’s seven-member executive committee.
In addition to his role as director of the Hohenstein Institute, Dr Mecheels is general manager and research director for Bekleidungsphysiologische Institut Hohenstein (physiological clothing), director of the Technische Akademie Hohenstein (technical academy) and a member of the managing board of the Verein Textildokumentation und information (the textile document and information association). He is also an honorary commercial judge at the Heilbronn District Court, is on various committees for the Stuttgart region and is town councillor for Kirchheim.
