Sugoi goes back to basics
According to Vancouver-based sports apparel company Sugoi, the company has taken a “back-to-basics” approach for its autumn 2009 collection.
The company has introduced a new Sugoi Comfort System (SCS) to help customers identify garments that are built to their individual requirements.
The SCS covers four key areas: moisture acquisition, insulation, protection and protection+. The firm’s new FinoCarbon fabric draws moisture away from the skin quickly and transports it to the outside of the garment, fulfilling the first key area (S1). Its updated MidZero fabric and superfine Merino Wallaroo wool offer thermal insulation, working well as midlayers for the insulation category (S2).
Items belonging to the protection category (S3), for example the Zap Jacket or the Helium Jacket, provide high wind and water repellency as well as breathability, while the Sugoi Firewall 220 with its tri-layered windproof and waterproof fabrications is an example of the protection+ category (S3+).
