29/05/2009

Gore is to present new innovations at Techtextil, which is to run June 16-18 in Frankfurt, Germany.

Products on show will include its Tenara sewing thread, which is resistant to UV sunlight, chemicals, saltwater, extreme weather, and acid rain, making it ideal for outdoor applications.

Its finest diameter ePTFE monofilaments, which are down to 45 microns, will also be on display. These can be used in a variety of technical textiles.

Its specially treated 100% PTFE (polytetrafluoroethylene) fibres have been developed to create fabrics with improved dimensional stability.

Gore is also developing staple and continuous filament fibres that are compatible with other fibres and yarns, to produce new and interesting flame-resistant fabrics. It claims the addition of Gore fibres can improveme drape, hand, moisture management, tear strength, abrasion resistance and overall flame/heat resistance. The fibres are Berry Amendment compliant.

Gore’s fabrics division will also exhibit at Techtextil.
