Musto to partner UK sailing team for London 2012

Sailing, equestrian and outdoor performance apparel brand Musto has been appointed as official performance clothing partner to Skandia Team GBR—the UK Sailing Team—for the next four years, a period that will include the London 2012 Olympics.
The clothing company will design and develop suitably themed technical sailing clothing to meet the needs of team members in the Olympic and Paralympic classes, as well as merchandising a range for Skandia Team GBR supporters.
Musto will be supplying the entire Skandia Team GBR squad, totaling some 70 sailors, with a selection of technical and shore-side clothing and equipment, and also kitting out the squad’s support team.
Commenting on the deal, Musto vice-president, Nigel Musto said: “We are very proud to be supporting Skandia Team GBR over the next four years. The recent success of British sailors on the international stage, coupled with the fact the Olympic sailing regatta will be held in home waters in 2012, makes this a truly golden age for British sailing and an age in which we are delighted to be involved.”
Team manager, Stephen Park, added: “We are delighted to have Musto onboard as our official kit supplier for the next four years. To ensure we are as well-equipped as possible to maintain our position as the world’s most successful Olympic Classes sailing nation we need to give our sailors the best kit we can and we are confident that Musto will prove to be a world class partner for Skandia Team GBR.”
News of the partnership was welcomed warmly by Keith Musto, company founder, who was selected as a squad member for three Olympic Games and brought home a silver medal from Tokyo in 1964, having competed in the Flying Dutchman class.
