US organic clothing sales reach $472 million
10/06/2009
The Organic Trade Association (OTA) is preparing to host a special Organic Fibre Walking Tour along Chicago’s most famous shopping street, the Magnificent Mile, North Michigan Avenue.
The event is a celebration of the growth in sales in the US of clothing and accessories made from organic fibres, which last year reached $472 million, up 65% from 2007.
At the same time, the walk will help raise awareness of the growing range of organic clothing now on offer from prominent retailers.
The event will take place on June 16 and will last from 11 o’clock in the morning until 3 o’clock in the afternoon. Participants will visit Banana Republic, GAP, H&M, Levi Strauss, and Skinstinct stores.
