China registers further drop in apparel exports

China’s customs authorities have revealed that exports of apparel and textiles in May had a value of $12.3 billion, a decline of 14.7% compared to the same month last year.

This represents an increase in the fall of export values compared to April, although February 2009 showed a record drop of 35.1%. Apparel and textiles registered a 2.9% increase in March, but fell again in April by 12.6%.
