Green light for Chinese coconut fibre
12/06/2009
The authorities in Qingdao in northern China have certified fibres produced by textile manufacturer Xueda from germanium and from charcoal produced from coconuts.
Coconut-charcoal fibre has already made an impact on the performance textile market because of its quick-drying and moisture absorption capabilities. It will generate negative ions and far-infrared ray, as well as germanium fiber.
The Qingdao Municipal Science and Technology Commission and the Qingdao Economy and Trade Commission said they were optimistic that products made from these two fibres could generate good economic returns.
