Techtextil reports growth

The Techtextil event in Frankfurt opened on June 16 with news of a 7.3% increase in the number of companies exhibiting.
Detlef Braun, a member of the management board at organiser Messe Frankfurt, commented: "With 1,021 exhibitors from 43 countries, Techtextil has once again set a new record this year. Even for a fast-growing event such as Techtextil, 7.3% more exhibitors represents an extraordinary increase, especially in time of economic difficulty."
Germany had the largest number of exhibitors, with 446, followed by Italy with 130 and France with 99. In all, 85% of exhibitors were from Europe, but Messe Frankfurt said it was pleased with an increase in the number of exhibitors from Taiwan, reflecting, it said, the Asian country's intention to expand its activities in technical textiles by 2015.
