India aims for anti-dumping duty on polypropylene imports
19/06/2009
After an appeal filed by two manufacturers of polypropylene, Reliance Industries and Haldia Petrochemicals, the Indian ministry of commerce has asked the government to impose provisional anti-dumping duty on imports of the polymer from Singapore, Oman and Saudi Arabia.
The ministry has asked for extra import to apply for an initial six months pending further investigation, with a view to imposing it for a further five years if exporting countries are founding to be making their prices for the Indian market falsely low to the detriment of domestic manufacturers.
