Eschler chooses coldblack

Swiss knitwear manufacturer Eschler has highlighted three functional fabrics integrating innovative technologies for its
summer 2011 collection.

The manufacturer is introducing a new Layer One quality from 100 % recycled polyester incorporating antimicrobial technology. It is also presenting two extremely high-tech knits using Schoeller’s coldblack technology to reduce heat absorbancy in dark coloured textiles and guarantees a high level of UV-protection in material of any colour.

Swan coldblack, for example, is a technical knit with a unique dimple ‘golf ball’ structured surface creating high-level aerodynamic properties. This material is already predominantly used in competition sports clothing from the suits of track runners to bike and triathlon apparel.

Flash coldblack is so called because it dries in a flash. It is a double-layer knit with polyester on the inside and polyamide on the outside to give moisture management and cooling properties. The polyamide outer material further guarantees a high abrasion resistance. Eschler adds Lycra for elasticity and compression and integrates carbon fibres to improve a garment’s thermal regulation.
