Textile software provider Lectra has announced that the University of Manchester has opened a new Advanced 3D CAD Suite at its School of Materials.

The university has chosen Lectra’s DesignConcept, TechTex and Modaris 3D Fit software for 25 new workstations for use both by post and undergraduate students of technical
textiles, composite materials, garment technology and fashion business management.

The university has been one of Lectra’s Privilege Partners since 2007.

At the time of the announcement, the university’s Professor Chris Carr commented: “The School of Materials is dedicated to providing a state-of-the-art environment for its
students and this requires the very best in professional software. Most importantly students are gaining valuable experience of applications they will find in industry and are well equipped once they graduate.”
