US reviews anti-dumping on polyester from Korea
29/06/2009
The US Department of Commerce is conducting a review of an antidumping duty order that has been in place on certain polyester staple fibre products from Korea.
The period under review is May 1, 2007, to April 30, 2008. The review covers imports one producer and exporter, and the department has said that its position going into the review is that sales of that company’s merchandise have been made “below normal value”, which justifies an extra anti-dumping duty.
Interested parties are invited to comment on these preliminary results. The department has said it will issue the final results within 120 days.
The Korean company at the heart of the dispute is Huvis Corporation, which supplies polyester to a number of market segments, including the clothing industry.
