University appointments for Hohenstein specialists

Freiburg University of Education has announced professorships for two textile and hygiene specialists from the Hohenstein Institute.

At a ceremony to be held on July 10 at the Hohenstein Institute headquarters, Schloss Hohenstein in Boennigheim, the chancellor of the
Freiburg University of Education, Professor Ulrich Druwe, will present the appointments to Professor Stefan Mecheels and to the Head of the Institute for Hygiene and
Biotechnology at the Hohenstein Institute, Dr Dirk Hoefer.

The dean of the faculty in which the two specialists will teach, Professor Bernd Feininger, said: “We hope that both of these appointments will further enrich teaching at the Institute of Technology, Home Economics and Textiles. Dr Stefan Mecheels supports efficient transfer of knowledge from research into practice which is also of great socio-political significance to our university. In addition, our relationship with this recognised centre for applied research will enhance our university's reputation
and serve as a model for exemplary knowledge transfer to the educational sector.”
