Pacific Brands to close Palmerston North units

Clothing manufacturer Pacific Brands has confirmed that it will close its Palmerston North factory in New Zealand, shortly after closing its Christchurch unit. According to reports, 50 jobs will be affected. Around 40 workers were affected by the Christchurch closure.

At the end of February, the company announced it would shed 23% of its workforce (see sportstextiles 26.02.09), affecting around 1,850 jobs in total.
