Latest EPIC innovations at OutDoor

Sportswear fabric technology firm EPIC Technology is to present its latest innovations at OutDoor, which runs July 16-19 in Friedrichshafen, Germany.

The company has launched two new environmentally friendly and sustainable fabrics incorporating its weatherproof attributes at the event. The first is recycled polyester using PET bottles and post-consumer waste, which reduces the amount of energy and petroleum used in the initial stages of the polyester process. And its organic cotton uses fewer chemicals, water and soil additives during the growing process.

“There is no other rainproof fabric like EPIC; water doesn’t penetrate the garment but allows natural airflow so the wearer stays truly comfortable.” says Peter Cook, the firm’s European business manager. “With our process we can encapsulate virtually any woven fabric in a light but permanent silicon polymer which is recyclable as well.”
