The European Chemicals Agency is currently sending out invitations for its Lead Registrant Workshop to be held on September 11 in Brussels. The workshop is specifically aimed at promoting means that will assist participants in their Substance Information Exchange Forum (SIEF) activities.

Topics to be discussed during the workshop will include best practices in establishing and managing SIEFs, the preparation of registration dossiers and specific feedback on information requirements.

ECHA is encouraging lead registrants to inform ECHA of their nominations. Over the past three months, around 650 lead registrants have done so via ECHA’s homepage. However, although this number is increasing steadily, it falls far short of the total number of SIEFs that are expected to submit their joint dossiers by the first registration deadline (November 30, 2010). As a result, the agency is urging lead registrants to submit their details as soon as possible.
