FICCI voices concerns over textile exports

21/07/2009

According to a new survey undertaken by the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI), textile exporters continue to be concerned about the near future.

A number of manufacturing sectors are expected to experience high growth in the July to September quarter compared with the same quarter last year, including metal and metal products, machinery and equipment, automotive, chemicals, leather and electronics.

However, textile exporters expect to see their exports fall during the quarter.

The survey was based on responses from more than 250 firms, including large, medium and small enterprises.
