X-Technology launches Apani clothing

Switzerland-based X-Technology has launched Apani, a new functional clothing line combining Saxon Merino wool with X-Bionic’s 3D-BionicSphere System.

The clothing is designed to absorb excess sweat but to leave a thin film of moisture on the skin. The company claims this has a cooling effect on the body for as long as it sweats. Then, when the wearer stops perspiring, trapped air pockets and InsulationPads insulate the body and prevent it from cooling down.

The Saxon Merino wool is spun into a yarn with a diameter of 16.5 micrometres, half as think as a human hair. A refining process is used to give the coarse raw material a silky sheen and a soft surface so that it can be worn next to the skin. It is also said to be odour-neutral, crease-free and easy-care.
