New Schoeller trends released
Protective wool, dominant black and splashes of metallic colour are among the Schoeller fabric trends for winter 2010. The main themes are familiar, authentic values that offer a sense of security.
According to the company, economic uncertainty has sparked a growing desire for authenticity, high quality classics and a sense of security. It believes natural materials will therefore dominate for the winter season, particularly when it comes to wool. In classic colours such as red and black, the bi-elastic, moss-structured wool crepes feel dry to the touch but form soft, protective wrappings. For example, its WB-400-soft-shell can be fashioned into softly hanging jackets with wide raglan sleeves for a retro look or as the somewhat sportier schoeller-shape variation with herringbone and the c_change climate membrane.
Traditional woollen fabrics are also making a comeback in compact loden styles, according to the company, particularly in brown, green and grey natural tones.
Black dominates the winter but is enlivened by distinctive colours and exciting materials. Three-dimensional braided structures give a matt, velvety effect by embossing the schoeller-shape jacket fabric. In contrast, the embossed printing on impregnated cotton-polyester blends with the coldblack finish gives a leather-like appearance. The dark, iridescent metallic tones of the matelassé fabric, with its quilted appearance and c_change technology, provides a discreet shine.
Metallic tones are enjoying a revival and offer new sparkle. The fresh colours in the latest schoeller-spirit metallic interpretations create life and movement. This could take the form of a new pink metal thread, a softly hanging crinkle-used look, a gleam of deep gold hues or bright, trendy lime tones.
