Sales down for Teijin

Japanese fibre manufacturer Teijin has reported a fall by almost 30% in its first quarter sales. Sales for the period between April and June reached $1.75 billion, a drop of 29.8% compared to the same period last year.
Sales of synthetic fibres declined by 39.3% to $485 million. The polyester fibre market remained sluggish in Japan and overseas, while aramid fibre sales suffered from persistently sluggish demand, the company said.
