Indian group opens two big sports stores

Planet Sports, India’s largest multi-brand sports and lifestyle retail chain, has opened two new stores in Mumbai.
The new openings bring the total number of stores Planet Sports runs to 62.
The locations for the latest outlets are the SOBO Central and Milan malls in the city.
The SOBO Central store is the largest in the Planet Sports network, spreading over 2,000 square-metres. The Milan Mall outlet is smaller,
covering around 1,200 square-metres. Both will stock apparel, footwear and equipment for a wide range of sports, including swimming, tennis, squash, badminton, soccer, golf and basketball.
The brands carried will include Converse, Speedo, Wilson, Prince, Callaway and Spalding.
Ravdeep Singh, chief executive of the group, said on opening the new Mumbai outlets: “We are proud to extend the Planet Sports experience to a wider base of valued customers in Mumbai.”
