New Nike shoes part of LeBron James world tour

Basketball star LeBron James and local community organisations will gather in Seward Park, Chicago on August 11 to celebrate the “transformative power of basketball” as part of the James’ World Tour.

Chicago is the first stop on the tour, which will span three continents over two months focusing on empowering youth, community service, grassroots basketball activities and the introduction of the Nike Air Max LeBron
VII shoes.

Nike will sponsor the tour, which is open to the public and will issue a call to action among young people to change their lives, improve their neighbourhoods and serve their communities through sport.

The James World Tour is part of a promotional tour for More Than a Game, a film that traces James’ journey through adolescence with his team-mates from Saint Vincent-Saint Mary High School in Akron, Ohio. Production company, Lionsgate, will screen the film in Chicago on Monday, August 10, and is expecting to release it in October 2.

After Chicago, the tour will take in Washington DC on August 15, Akron on August 21, Beijing on August 24, Shenyang on August 26, Shanghai on August 28, Paris on September 1, London on September 5, New York on Septmeber 20 and Los Angeles on September 26.
