Pakistan’s textile exports fall 12%

According to Pakistan’s official statistics bureau, the country’s textiles exports fell 12% year-on-year in July, the first month of the country’s financial year.

Textile exports for the month totalled $800 million compared with $908 million in July 2008.
In June, yarn exports and synthetic textile items, among others showed strong growth. However, declines were recorded for a number of segments including cotton and readymade garments.
