Dunning Sportswear has announced that 2008 Ironman world champion Craig Alexander is to wear its apparel when he is not competing.

The 36-year-old, known as ‘Crowie’ will wear the company’s shirts, trousers, shorts, sweaters and thermal pieces, including its new Tour slim fit collection. The Australian, who trains in Boulder, Colorado, will also play an integral role in product development, will serve as a company spokesperson and be featured in advertising, marketing materials and in-store displays.

“My connection to Dunning is that the clothes are so clearly created from an athlete’s perspective,” says Alexander. “I love how versatile the fits and fabrics are. They’ve got the classic-looking button down with built-in performance, as well as some great cotton and wool pieces which are often what I really want after a race or training session.”

The 2006 Triathlete of the Year has won 27 races worldwide since 2004 and finished runner-up on 14 occasions, capped by his victory in Hawaii last October. He is also passionate about surfing and golf.
